#HuskyGivingDay: A Look at the Lasting Influence of UW’s Endowed Fellowship for Global Health, Excellence, Equity, and Impact

This year, the University of Washington Department of Global Health is participating in Husky Giving Day to raise support for the Endowed Fellowship for Global Health Excellence, Equity and Impact. The Fellowship aims to broaden diversity and excellence within the field of global health by supporting students who come from racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in the field and who might not otherwise be able to attend graduate school.

May 21 is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, a day for people around the globe to celebrate diversity in their own contexts, whether locally or globally. Q&A: Meet the UW Department of Global Health Research Assistants

For students at the UW Department of Global Health, being a Research Assistant (RA) offers an enriching experience for both personal and professional growth. In 2017 more than 13 PhD and MPH students - who are Endowed Fellowship for Global Health Excellence, Equity and Impact recipients and Graduate School Fund for Excellence and Innovation (GSFEI) Top Scholar Award recipients - are undertaking Research Assistantships. Meet the current UW Department of Global Health batch of RAs, learn about their backgrounds and get their first-hand perspective of life as an RA.
