Program Overview
The Doctor of Global Health Leadership and Practice (DrGH) degree program is a unique practice-based doctoral program for mid-career professionals. This innovative degree addresses the growing need for advanced training in evidence-based practice and leadership skills in global health settings. The Doctor of Global Health Leadership and Practice can be completed in as little as three years.
Unlike traditional research-focused doctoral programs, the DrGH emphasizes practical leadership development. It equips future global health leaders with skills in:
- Strategic planning
- Utilizing resources
- Leading teams
- Strengthening national policy
- Implementing, managing, and evaluating evidence-based programs
DrGH graduates gain the ability to navigate and lead diverse organizations and settings including: Ministries of Health, multilateral and bi-lateral agencies (e.g., WHO, UN), non-governmental organizations, foundations, academic institutions, and private sector organizations.
The program enrolled its first cohort in Autumn 2021 and is accredited by the Council for Education in Public Health.
