The Excellence Awards celebrates members of the SPH community for their dedication, service, and many contributions to public health. Congratulations to all our awardees!

Every year, we take the time to recognize outstanding staff for their dedication and many contributions to our department. Criteria for selecting outstanding staff included superior service, resourcefulness, innovation, creativity, excellence, integrity, and a commitment to creating and sustaining a climate of equity, justice, and anti-racism. 2023 DGH Staff Awards

Every year, we take the time to recognize the outstanding staff and their dedication, service, and many contributions to our department. Criteria for selecting outstanding staff included job knowledge and performance, creativity, integrity, flexibility, a positive attitude, willingness to go beyond the limits of a job description to get things done, community service, outstanding interpersonal skills, and demonstration of grace under pressure. DGH Announces 2022 Outstanding Staff Award Recipient

The Department of Global Health recently awarded its 2022 Outstanding Staff Award to Arika Johnson (Program Manager, DGH Core). Her role as program manager for the newly implemented faculty search includes working with DGH leadership, Faculty Search Council, Human Resources, Communications, students and faculty candidates. Arika has done a phenomenal job supporting the DGH Faculty Search Council through the biggest, most complex faculty search the Department has ever done.

Online Education Manager Anya Nartker Receives Outstanding Staff Award

Online education manager Anya Nartker has been selected to receive the 2021 University of Washington Department of Global Health (DGH) Outstanding Staff Award. In further recognition of her instrumental contributions to the success of DGH during a year like no other, Anya also received the UW School of Public Health (SPH) Anderson-O’Connell Award for Outstanding Staff Service, presented at the virtual SPH Awards of Excellence ceremony on June 2, 2021.
