To showcase the work at UW in global health, we ned to collect innovations and activities for visitors to see this summer at the Seattle Center.
In July and August 2012, global health will be featured as part of the 50th anniversary of the World’s Fair and “millions” of visitors are expected to go through the Seattle Center and view the various exhibits. As part of this effort, the Washington Global Health Alliance launched the Global Health Nexus project to bring together people from all sectors of society to share the work of global health in the region. After more than a year of meeting with a large group of people – lawyers, doctors, faith workers, sports executives, non-profit personnel, government officials, and many more -- the Global Health Nexus group has designed a major exhibit (donated by World Vision) to help tell our story. The exhibit will feature lexhibits on cancer, malaria, diabetes, and maternal child health as well as a water innovation room and a massive Activity Tent. If you are at UW and have something to share, please email bnodell@uw.edu.
