Members of the Department of Global Health are making a big showing at the 2011 meeting of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) meeting in Montreal Nov. 13-15. At last count, UW had one plenary speaker -- Patricia Garcia; three moderators -- King Holmes, Judith Wasserheit, Ann Anderson; one commentator -- Stephen Gloyd; one workshop facilitator -- Daren Wade; and one big award for Global Health Project of the Year ( details forthcoming). UW is also showcasing 25 posters (15 from I-TECH) and participating in 12 scientific programs. View presentation schedule.

Unlike previous meetings, this year’s conference is the result of a first-time ever collaboration of three of North America’s leading global health organizations: CUGH, the Global Health Education Consortium (GHEC) and the Canadian Society for International Health.

The 2011 annual meeting also marks the merger of CUGH and GHEC into a single, university-based global health organization.
