The development of an MNCH-focused Life-saving Assets Tracker, Phase II

The project assesses the introduction and path to scale of nine essential MNCH and five key nutrition commodities and approaches in five focus geographies.

Using a multipronged approach we aim to understand programmatic implementation of nine MNCH interventions that are already primed for scale and have been introduced in countries. These include MgSO4, Iron Folic Acid, Amoxicillin, Misoprostol, Chlorohexidine, Community Regiment for the Treatment of Possible Serious Bacterial Infection, Kangaroo Mother Care, oxytocin and Tools for newborn resuscitation. More recently our work has expanded to included five key nutrition interventions (Balanced Energy Protein Supplementation, Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation, Management of Acute Malnutrition, Early Initiation and Exclusive Breastfeeding and Feeding of Small and sick newborns)

The proposed activities involve primary data collection to assess stakeholder views on implementation successes, and the barriers and facilitators that influence coverage levels, and key issues around use and uptake of these interventions at the sub-national level within focus countries (Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, India, Kenya and Nigeria).

Additionally we will be utilizing primary data and secondary data from these countries to create
interactive dashboards to visualize the status of these
interventions along the pathway to scale up. These dashboards are visualized as a global good for use for global, regional and national stakeholders.
