Using peers and HIV self-testing to facilitate linkage to PrEP for young Kenyan women

This project aims to develop, refine, and test a new model to increase PrEP initiation among young women with HIV risk that has never been explored: peer PrEP referral + HIV self-test (HIVST) delivery. Primary collaborators are mentors at UW and the Thika, Kenya Partners in Health Research and Development Clinic. Funding is provided through an NIH K99/R00 career development award (PI: Ortblad) though 2025.
