Disease Control Priorities Project (Bergen Center for Ethics and Priority Setting)
This is a research consortium that seeks develop new methods and tools for priority setting in health and builds on the Disease Control Priorities Network investment by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The current secretariat for the consortium is based at the University of Bergen, Norway with research team PIs at the UW, Harvard University, and Addis Ababa University. Core research teams work with ministries of health and other partners to generate data to guide health sector reforms in Ethiopia, Tanzania (Zanzibar), and Malawi. The consortium also seeks to build in-country capacity to conduct policy research. Dr. Watkins leads the UW site, which focuses on the development of policy modeling tools and studies the use of evidence in policymaking.
