iHMP: The Multi-Omic Microbiome Study-Pregnancy Initiative (MOMS-PI)

The Multi-Omic Microbiome Study-Pregnancy Initiative (MOMS-PI) is a collaborative project with Virginia Commonwealth University and GAPPS, with funding from the NIH Integrative Human Microbiome Project. The study involves following the microbes of pregnant women throughout pregnancy and shortly after childbirth. The goals of the initiative are to generate large and comprehensive datasets using “omics” technologies, which will lead to insights into how the microbiome impacts risk for preterm birth. This is an ongoing project.
