Susan Mello is the Associate Director of the UW/Fred Hutch Center for AIDS Research in the Department of Global Health, and oversees three other centers in the Department of Medicine.  Susan brings almost 30 years of experience in health-related research and research administration, including competencies in strategic planning; program, fiscal, grant, human resources, and facilities management; communications; community engagement; and equity, diversity and inclusion work.  She has a BA in the Thomas Hunter Honors Program from Hunter College of the City University of New York, and an Executive MPA from the UW Evans School of Public Policy and Governance.  Susan is a lifelong learner who enjoys family fun, hiking, nature photography, and singing in choirs.
