Dr. Aliza Monroe-Wise is an infectious disease and internal medicine specialist engaged in HIV prevention research and education activities in Nairobi, Kenya. She is the Research Director for SHARP, a study of assisted partner services for people who inject drugs in Kenya. She also serves as the e-Learning lead for Kenya's National HIV Integrated Training Curriculum and is the primary UW liaison for the University of Nairobi's Healthcare Education Partnership Initiative. Dr. Monroe-Wise holds a BA in African American studies from Columbia University, a MSc in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and an MD from Stanford University. She completed residency and fellowship at University of Washington and was UW's first Chief Resident for the Clinical Education Partnership Initiative (CEPI) in Naivasha, Kenya.
