Host-Pathogen Interactions

Mary grew up in Connecticut, then attended Dickinson College in Pennsylvania to earn a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Working in two different labs, examining genetic changes in cancer cells as well as the immune response to listeria, she developed a passion for investigating research questions. Due to an interest in infectious diseases, especially those of high global health burden, she decided to pursue the Pathobiology program. Mary is in the Hybiske lab, and is studying the protein composition of the Chlamydia trachomatis parasitophorous vacuole membrane. Outside of lab she enjoys running, playing the ukulele, and reading.
