For the Global Health Pathway

Students enrolled in the Global Health Pathway complete work in five categories intended to provide a well-rounded introduction to issues in global health:

  • Coursework
  • Scholarly Project / Triple I (Independent Investigative Inquiry)
  • Clinical Experience
  • International Experience
  • Community Engagement / Service Learning

Please note: All requirements must be completed while enrolled in the UW School of Medicine. Successful completion is noted in the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) in time for residency applications.

To check your progress or update the fulfilling requirements, please contact Kirsten Greene (kngreene@uw.edu)

COVID-19 Travel Restrictions Impact: We understand that due to travel restrictions imposed by the U.S State Department, University of Washington, and the School of Medicine, it might not be possible for you to reach one of the requirements. Please contact Jason Beste and Daren Wade to discuss accommodations so you can fulfill the requirements for the pathway. We are committed to being flexible and considering local global experiences and work from home projects.
